Pinch Pot cut in half

I think doing the pinch pot for the first time was pretty hard because having to start of with a ball then slowly shape it by pinching it and moving up to give it some height was tricky. But then having to cut it and see I didn't do it as evenly helped me because I realized I needed to shape it better. And I feel like I would probably try doing this project again so I can get a better understanding on how to even it out on the bottom and on the sides. One thing I felt like went right was how smooth it was and how thick I had it because pinch pots cant be too thin or dry because it'll break and crack when it's fired. And I feel like the size I did it in was pretty good for a snack bowl.

But I also feel like the hardest parts were when I was trying to shape it from the top and have a round little bowl but it was kinda hard. But I feel like I got better fixing that problem by adding more clay. I think I needed to make the sides thicker to make sure it stays the way I want it because when its too thin it'll fold in.

Pinch pot made with Lid/useful

Doing the pinch pot with a lid was pretty tricky because having to make a lid that can cover a cup is pretty hard. And I thought it would be really easy because in the videos it doesn't look hard to do. It was also really tricky because you have to make sure that the lid fits perfectly and it can be used for what you made it for. So once it was fired and glazed I felt like it looked way better besides that the lid didn't really fit well but the purpose with the lid was that if I have a spoon I don't need to take it out of the cup because the lid has a spot for the spoon. I feel like I would try again just because I think I realized what I needed to do to make the lid fit right.

The hardest parts I think were trying to make sure the lid covered the whole thing and nothing would be able to go inside when the lid is on the cup. Doing this project I think took a few days for me to finish because I didn't like how the cup was turning out and how I cant make the lid that goes on top and secures everything. But once I started getting my cup shaped I wanted to finish making my lid and I felt like it covered a decent amount and I couldn't see any sections where I can see inside the cup but once it was fired it didn't fit evenly on top bc now it kinda hard a shape to it instead of just being a flat lid. So maybe next time that I do this I'll try to make the lid flatter so when its fired and dried up it wont lift up .
